We met by matching on a dating app! Charlie had just moved home to Green Bay after finishing his masters program in Milwaukee, and Joy had recently moved back home to Green Bay after living in Florida. We matched, went on our first date, and exactly one year later on the anniversary of our first date, we were engaged!
It was June 6th, 2025 and Charlie told me we were making a quick pit stop before heading to a family birthday dinner. What I didn’t know was that the “birthday dinner” was actually a surprise engagement party.
Charlie brought me to the St. Norbert campus where we regularly attended weekly Mass and had become a special part of our relationship. There, at the Grotto of Our Lady, the space was beautifully decorated with flowers, candles, photos of our favorite memories together, and a photographer to capture the moment.
Charlie asked me to marry him - and of course, I said yes! The night continued with a surprise engagement party where we celebrated the big news surrounded by family and friends.
The ring is a marquise diamond set on a gold band with a hidden halo underneath. Joy wanted something that felt both timeless and unique - yet had a simple touch.
